Another reason why I hate Air Asia!!!!

Yesterday I bought a one way ticket from Air Asia from Penang to KL. The price of the ticket is RM74 inclusive of tax. However, towards the payment page, I notice there is another new fee imposed - CONVENIENCE FEE! I wonder what the heck is that? I clicked and found out that it is a fee imposed if one is paying using credit card. Don't you think is unfair for Air Asia to charge the so called convenience fee when we purchase ticket online? In fact, by online purchase, we are giving them the convenience, not the other way round. Moreover, normally online purchase of anything using credit card, there is no extra charges. The so called low cost airline will mint money if they charge extra RM5 in each transactions. Smart fellow!
I am not sure whether the convenience fee is standard RM5. RM5 out of RM74 is almost 7%!!! Normally, merchants charge max 3% when we use credit card. RM5 is not a lot, but question here is, is it fair for them to charge us???

I know this is quite a new thing, because 2 weeks ago, I logged in and purchased ticket for a friend, the so called convenience fee has not been imposed yet!!
Air Asia unnecessary charge this extra fee for using credit card is totally unfair, as if they are providing up class service to us? Recently my friend's luggage was mishandled when flying Air Asia. What the heck??!! If other airlines are not charging this, I really don't see the reason why Air Asia has the right to do that??

Home cooked chicken curry without coconut milk

The other I tried a simple and healthier version of chicken curry without adding coconut milk. I used two pieces of meat from free ranged chicken and potatoes to cook my curry.

1) Blend 6-7 small red onions, some ginger, some lemongrass, 2-3 small chillies, 3-4
cloves of garlic & few pieces of curry leave into paste form.
2) Fried the blended paste until fragrant, I then add some chili powder, turmeric
powder and bit of meat masala powder.
3) Add the potatoes and tomatoes and some water to allow the potatoes to get cooked.
4) After the potatoes are done, and tomatoes had melted in the gravy, I add the
chicken. ( add water when needed )
Not to forget to add some sea salt for better taste.
p/s: Since I love the nice fragant of coriander leave, I add some for garnish as well!

That's it, a fuss free, healthier version of home cooked chicken curry without coconut milk. It's quite tasty even without coconut milk, indeed!

Ming Chow BKT@ Kuala Dipang

My aunty recommended this place to us during our visit to Kampar. The Bak Kut Teh here is very tasty. Reached the place around 7pm, already seen the big crowd, some are busy eating their BKT, some are eagerly waiting for their order. I can spell the fragnant herbal soup soon after I step out from the car parked in front of the place.

Kuala Dipang is approximately 6km from Kampar Town. Driving from Ipoh to Kampar, the place is located on the right hand side. There are 2 eateries open for dinner which serves quite good food. One is Ming Chow Bak Kut Teh, the one beside Ming Chow is serving home cooked dishes.

This is more like the Penang style Bak Kut Teh, serves in claypot and slightly watery soup, unlike the Klang style whereby the soup is much thicker and stronger.
A big pot cost RM27.50 AND regular pot is RM16.50.

The MSG level is rather low,it's not the super exotic BKT, but above average. ( I reckon is better than a few I've tried in Ipoh)

Best Chapati@Restoran Moga Punjabi, Ipoh

Chapati is one of the healthiest Indian food available. The unleavened whole wheat flat bread is especially good if one would like to opt for a light dinner. We discovered this Punjabi restaurant months back. This simple set up restaurant located in Little India at old town of Ipoh serves very fluffy and super soft chapati. The chapati is made/ rolled fresh when you ordered, definitely not the "reheating" type.
Check it out...if you love chapati. This is surely not another run-of-mill chapati you have in the mamak shop.

My side dish to eat with the chapati - potato cauliflower curry

The restaurant is located along Jalan Lahat / Little India in Ipoh. Neighbour of KBR Vegetarian Restaurant. ( painted in pink shop, can be easily spotted)

Sure Fire recipe for spaghetti

I enjoy cooking simple and healthy meal nowadays. First thing is of course, cooking at home is more healthy ( not necessary tastier). Cooking a simple meal can be very easy. After watching the lousy movie - Cloudy with a Chance of Meatball, it inspired me to cook spaghetti for dinner.

This is a sure fire recipe for beginner like me.
I bought a bottle of tomato basil sauce from organic shop.

Spaghetti

Cooking this spaghetti needs only 3-5mins. After water is boiled, add sea salt and spaghetti.

Meanwhile, I cook the topping on the other side of the stove.
I use extra virgin olive oil to brown the chopped onions, then add sakura minced pork and sliced button mushroom. After 3 mins, I add the sauce to the pan and stir fry for another 2 mins and my topping is done!

That's my end product of home made healthy simple spaghetti - sure fire recipe!
I avoid cheese for recipe, but I am sure adding cheese will be tastier!

Blog turns 1 yo -celebration@ Italia Mia

1st Nov marks the first anniversary of my blog. After having a blog of my own..

1 ~ I carry a camera whenever I go for food.
2 ~ Most people around me dare not to start eating before I snap the photo of the
food. Thanks people!!!!!

My bf brought me to Italia Mia for my Blog 1st year anniversary celebration. It's one of the most expensive dining place in Ipoh, which, of course is not a regular dining place for us. There were a lot of positive comment about this place, so we expect a real good experience there!

We ordered a plate of Spaghetti alla Puttanesca recommended by the owner - as I told him I want some lighter version of shaghetti. I give a thumb up for it. So far, the best I had in Ipoh. But price @ RM32.90 is a bit too expensive!
P/S: Due to the limited function of my camera and dim light in the restaurant, photo taken is kind of bad....

A pizza we ordered was so so only, but quite exorbitantly price - RM39.95 with merely mushroom and cheese topping!

I will keep blogging and keep this journal of food and thank you so much for reading my blog!

Chilli Pan Mee@Station18,Ipoh

I was told that the Pan Mee @ The Mia is marvellous. She said, " I think this is the best I've ever tried in Ipoh." I am not sure whether she exaggerate or what...but since she talked so much about it, I must find out the truth.
Finally got the chance to try and the truth revealed - and it really impressed me,I love it! I had been reading and watching much about Chili Pan Mee in Klang Valley, finally I can try the Ipoh version!

The Chili Pan Mee I ordered came with bouncy texture noodle, piping hot chillies(chopped), minced meat, anchovies and sliced black fungus and egg....lovely!

After mixing

I love every bite of the noodle, thumbs up! RM4.50/bowl

The dried chili Pan Mee comes with potato veg with meatball soup, the meat ball also is very nice here at The Mia...yummy yummy! I have a feeling they made their own meat ball!

Another order was Hokkien Soup Pan Mee, a good option for those who love soupy stuff!
RM 3.50/bowl

Drinks

I saw quite a few ordered Hakka Liu Cha( Wed special), Fried Pan Mee, Nasi Lemak and half boiled egg toast. I reckon these should great stuff here as well. I am very sure to return to try other things in their menu!
