Gold Coast Day 2 -Brisbane

Day 2, we joined a day tour to Brisbane. It cost AUD59/pax. There are a lot of local tours available for tourist . We joined Australian Day Tour. The driver cum tour guide came to pick up at our apartment around 7.05am. It took us about an hour time to reach Brisbane, the 3rd largest city in Australia. Traffic was busy and I've notice there are a lot of bridges in Brisbane city, one of the most famous one is Story Bridge.

Photos taken when we were travelling on the bridge crossing the Brisbane River. One may opt to join the guided adventure bridge climbing as well!

Our first stop was to the heritage site of Old Windmill & Reservoirs @ Wickham Park.

What so special about this windmill? It is the oldest surviving building in Queensland. During the colonial time, it was built for grinding grains. Now, it is used as a weather obesevatory tower.

Then, we were taken to a few historical architectural buildings, includes the Parliament House, St Johns and China Town.

The Parliament House

A nice Catholic Church, taken from the coach...

Then, we went to the Breakfast Creek Hotel, one of Brisbane oldest hotels. Built in 1889 and has been registered under Queensland Heritage Register.

The tour also include morning tea at the hotel, which serves delicious scone and coffee.

According to our guide, this place is famous of their steak as well...however, it was too early for us to try it?!

Look at the nice and fresh beef pieces....

Most Australian beef are grass and grain fed, generally healthier and tastier

Our next stop point was to Kangaroo Point, whereby we have have a nice view of the city.
Beautiful, isn't it?

view from Newstead House, Queensland's Oldest Residence

View from Bartley's Lookout

Lunch was at our own till 4pm. We went to Fiasco's @ Morrison Hotel at Stanley Street for lunch....
Here you go...

The Godfather - pizza- excellent tast- AUD15.50

Eye Fillet 200g- AUD 26.50 - with chef's fav topping- taste was special and super fresh fillet -thumbs up!

Last but not least, after the shopping at Queens Street, we were very tired....while waiting for the coach at Brisbane Transit Centre, we grabbed KFC in Australia...
The burger with chicken fillet and ham, so yummy....

Even the french fries is different, so fat....

That's end of sight seeing day tour to Brisbane. We enjoyed the tour, except for some delayed by the tour guide during our trip back to Gold Coast. As he has got a flat tyre and need to change another coach. The shopping, the food were all great!
