Zhu Jia Jiao Water Village朱家角, Suburb Shanghai
Zhu Jia Jiao Water village is one of the tourist attraction if you were in Shanghai. It is a suburb located 35-40 mins away from Shanghai.
The entrance fee to this ancient water village is RMB80, in which this includes water cruise and all the entrance fee of other attractions within Zhu Jia Jiao.
In fact, the local driver told me, Zhou Zhuang water village is more attractive than Zhu Jia Jiao, but travelling will be much further. Since it was a really short trip, I only managed to visit Zhu Jia Jiao.
The day I was there was indeed a good weather day, cool and nice walking around the village and taking nice photo. This place is really worth a visit as it is really an amazing water village with lots of ancient buildings that are well preserved since Ming and Qing dynasty.
I enjoyed the boat cruising, the manual wooden boat like those we have seen in the drama, nice nice!!! Really had the feeling of "back to olden days"
The most sceneric bridge within Zhu Jia Jiao - Fang Sheng Bridge
KeZhi Garden, one of the most attractive garden in this water village. It was a grand garden owned by those tycoon those days! Some photos taken at KeZhi Garden....
Check this out, at first I thought it's some grapes like plant....later I heard the tour guide of another tourist told that it's a kind of herbal plant which has some healing properties
There are lots of snacks and restaurants in the village. The most famous one is the pork dumpling...looks really porky, since I didnt try, sorry, cant tell how it taste like...
There are many other spots to explore within this water village, check it out yourself when you visit Shanghai for the World Expo!
